'Traditional' therapy in a clinic room or medical setting is not for everybody. Hannah and Lealah are 2 HCPC registered clinical psychologists working with Kintsugi to offer therapy with a bit of a difference.
We use nature and creativity in a beautiful, natural setting to offer person-centred therapies to those people who "fall through the gaps" of local NHS services.
"The human soul doesn’t want to be advised or fixed or saved. It simply wants to be witnessed — to be seen, heard and companioned exactly as it is." Parker Palmer
Let's focus less on 'what's wrong with you', or medical labels, and more on what's happened to you, the impact it's had, and the ways that you've tried to cope so far. We are all just trying our best to get by as best we can, in a world we did not design. Sometimes we trip up, no matter how hard we try. We believe that with the right support, at the right time, at a pace and place that suits us, we are able to thrive and draw on our own innate strengths and abilities, take positive risks and find meaning.
We believe in early intervention, catching those of us who are struggling before they might meet the increasingly high thresholds of NHS services.
Lealah has particular experience in working with adults who have learning disabilities and/or autism who have mental health difficulties, whilst Hannah has particular experience working with those of us who have experienced trauma. We both believe in providing flexible and adaptive therapy in non-clinical environments.
As psychologists we work in an integrative way and draw on many therapy models, including;
Compassion Focused Therapy
Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
Attachment based approaches.
